The Alpha, The Beginning, The Ones
The Air Jordan 1 is the alpha, the beginning, and the launch of the Air Jordan concept as a whole. The Air Jordan 1 designed by shoe connoisseur Peter Moore was released by Nike in 1985. With the unveiling of the shoe that forever shaped the sneaker game the Air Jordan 1 was considered by many a breakthrough in the design and concepts of a basketball shoe. Although the shoe’s initial design was improved upon later with the Nike Dunk the “ones” was defiantly not only the first of the Jordan series but a first in the move away from old way of sneaker designing. The 1s initially gained a great deal of publicity and interest because its vibrant black and red color violated the league's uniform rules and when Michael was fined five thousand dollars every time he wore the shoes during a game. Nevertheless, other companies scrambled to model their design after the shoe and introducing knock-off brands of the Air Jordan line. In 1994 the Air Jordan 1 was re-released with dismal success. The Air Jordan 1 to date has been the most retrod and remixed Air Jordan from the series with the 90+ shoe colors. It’s safe to say the launch of the ones has definitely propelled the Air Jordan brand to heights only dreamed of. The Air Jordan 1 is the vetern in the jordan series but they are definately still "the ones".
